The MutiCam series of Radiographic Reducers are
designed to give the Medical Photographer a versatile reducing system, adaptable
to a variety of applications.
For the production of both 35mm and 4"x5" reductions, Egoltronics'
patented exposure control system offers automatic dodging and dependable,
repeatable exposures. The MultiDodge exposure control system uses both Intensity
Modulation and Velocity Modulation of the scanning spot of a cathode ray tube
(CRT) light source. As the spot brightens and velocity changes in response to
the densities which constitute the tones of the original transparency, the
resulting exposure is varied in each small area of the reduction. The system
controls gross contrast-the contrast of areas larger than the spot. The reduced
image, from print to print, has excellent overall tonal uniformity, with maximum
highlight, midtone and shadow information visible.
The amount of dodging to be used may be automatically set or manually selected
by the operator. In the Automatic mode, a "PreScan" determines the
DMax, DMin and Midtone density of the original, and automatically sets the
circuits that control dodging. Size and Focus adjustments of all models are
manually controlled.
The Mag Comp feature provides exposure compensation for six pre-selectable,
frequently used reduction ratio, as chosen by the operator.
MultiCam reducers are built with aluminum casting, and stainless steel Vee
guides for the camera carriage. Rugged construction provides precise, repeatable
performance.
