This 5" format scanning enlarger electronically dodges electron microscope images during enlargement, using Egoltronics' patented IM/VM system to evaluate the density of the negative. The Multidoge control system and the CRT light source enable the EM-55 to deliver optimum image quality and maximum detail from every negative. Uneven, excessively contrasty negatives are electronically "dodged" to reveal detail otherwise lost in shadow and highlight areas. The system's automatic evaluation system controls the exposure of local areas to provide better results than any digital or other photographic exposure and printing system.
In addition to enlarging, the EM-55 can contact print negatives or radiographs up to 15"x19", using the enlarger's light source, the Multidodge control system and the CM-1620 Contact Frame.
